Mistek Club

In 1972, Kismet Grotto purchased Hummal's Grove picnic grounds. It took a lot of donations and much hard work to get the grounds in shape. In the same year, Mistek Club Inc. was formed to manage the new 'Grotto Park'.

In 1973, the corner stone was laid for the first building which now houses the kitchen, sheltered serving area and storage rooms.

In it’s prime, Grotto Park could easily accommodate groups of several hundred, providing complete kitchen, dining and restroom facilities. A horseshoe pit and children's play area were close by the shelters. An adjacent, large open area allowed for games such as volleyball and children's 'bouncy rooms' and the like.

All good things must come to an end, they say... In November of 2013, Grotto Park was sold and the Mistek Club dissolved. Kismet Grotto meetings are now held at the Saegertown American Legion (corner of St Hwy 198 and Park Ave Extension).
